KinaTrax’s mission is to provide professional and collegiate teams with game-changing insights at the speed of sport about their most valuable asset: their athletes. We deliver research-grade markerless motion capture technology that allows teams to collect in-game biomechanical performance data on their athletes. KinaTrax camera systems are currently deployed in over 75 stadiums & labs across MLB, MiLB & NCAA organizations – and are expanding into other sports leagues, including NBA & NHL. Our comprehensive data capture & analysis tools are operationalized for daily use by players, GMs, coaches, trainers, medical staff, researchers, and beyond. As the market leader in markerless motion capture, KinaTrax has become a foundational part of the teams’ day-to-day strategy and decision-making machine across sports.

We’ve innovated the analytical game with advanced technology. Our artificial intelligence and computer vision algorithms can rapidly process data through massive parallelization. Comprehensive biomechanics reports can be tailored to a variety of applications. This gives you insight to improve pitcher and batter performance and foresee injuries. Plus, you can load motion capture data results and export to C3D, BVH and CSV formats. This enhanced convenience lets you spend less time collecting data and more time maximizing it.
KinaTrax Dugout is a web-based portal designed to optimally visualize, analyze, interpret, and share data. Users can easily access all historical data, both home and away, as well as shared data from anywhere. Plot time series graphs, extract key metrics, view all camera video, compare multiple players, time points, etc. Integrate MLBAM Statcast metadata for the ability to slice, dice, and present the biomechanical data any way imaginable. The ultimate reporting and presentation tool.
Did the starting pitcher’s arm slot change variability late in the game?
Did the pitcher’s arm slot deviate from 90 degrees at release?
Did the pitcher’s elbow flexion angle deviate from 90 degrees during cocking phase?

Our state-of-the-art technology enables you to achieve precise 3D joint location and bone segment orientation — in both in-game and lab settings. This advantage is the result of our unique high-speed, multi-camera system and deep learning algorithms. You will be able to reconstruct in 3D the motion for both home and visiting pitches and at-bats. Then, you can use this information to make the necessary adjustments to boost pitcher and hitter performance.
Gather biomechanical data during actual competition. The data can be used to enhance performance, prevent injuries, and monitor for fatigue in-game. The system consists of multiple synchronized cameras capturing high-speed video zoomed in on the pitcher and hitter. Over half a decade, our system has been deployed in dozens of ballparks and used to analyze millions of plays. We ensure that all camera locations comply with sign-stealing regulations. As part of our complete turn-key solution, biomechanical and data processing services are included so that the user can focus entirely on making use of the data.
Without the need of markers, our lab system eliminates the time consuming process of marker placement and allows for accurate biomechanical analysis to take place without training staff having to make contact with the players. To enable kinetic analysis, our system integrates with several force plate vendors and can capture from multiple force plates synchronized with the motion capture data. Unlike conventional marker-based systems, our lab system can also track the ball in flight. When coupled with our in-game system, direct comparisons of in-game and lab data can be made to assess a player’s ability to actualize lab performance in-game.
